In order to enrich the amateur cultural life of the faculty, promote the physical and mental health of the faculty, build a platform for badminton enthusiasts, and improve the badminton level of the faculty, the Beijing Institute of Technology 2023 Faculty badminton team Competition was officially kicked off in Zhongguancun Gymnasium on May 27。The competition was sponsored by the school trade union, organized by the Faculty Badminton Association and co-organized by the Sports Department。

The badminton team competition is one of the traditional sports events of BTECH, which is welcomed and loved by the faculty and staff of BTECH。According to the number of existing staff members of each second-level trade union, units with less than 150 members are allowed to voluntarily form a team to register for the competition。A total of 18 grassroots trade union teams participated in the 2023 Faculty Badminton Team Competition，It includes the School of Astronautics, the School of Mechatronic Engineering, the School of Machinery and Vehicles, the School of Optoelectronics, the School of Automation, the School of Computer Science, the School of Materials, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the School of Life Science, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, the School of Management and Economics, the School of Integrated Circuits and Electronics + the joint team of the School of Continuing Education, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences + the joint team of the School of Marxism, and the Department of Sports + the School of PhysicsJoint teams, institutions, libraries, asset management companies，More than 200 faculty members participated in the contest。

The competition is divided into four groups, the first stage of the group round robin, the second stage of the elimination of the quarter-final, semi-final and final。

On the court, the players of each team were united, worked hard, and flexibly used various tactics to display various skills such as high ball, smash, split and drop ball, which fully demonstrated the badminton competitive strength and sportsmanship of the school staff。The arena atmosphere is active, the climax is continuous, applause, cheers one after another, fully embodies the "friendship first, competition second, physical and mental pleasure, strengthen exchanges" the purpose of the competition。

After a day of fierce competition, the union of Mechanical and Electrical College won the champion, the union of Materials College won the second place, the union of Computer College won the third place, and the union 1 team of organs won the fourth place。Gao Weitao, executive vice chairman of the school trade union, and Gold, vice chairman, presented awards to the winning team。

In this competition, the school union hired 15 professional referees from off-campus sports institutions to make judgments. In the process of the competition, they were superb in business, precise and meticulous, rigorous and realistic, fair and just, which helped to ensure the successful progress of the event。

The faculty and staff of BEIT will continue to carry forward the fine style of fighting bravely and working together in the competition, and make new contributions to promoting the construction of "double first-class" university by making friends, enhancing physical fitness, uplifting spirit and gathering strength。
